FC Dallas - FC Dallas was founded in Major League Soccer’s inaugural year of 1996 as the Dallas Burn. From 1996-2004 the team played its matches between the Cotton Bowl and Dragon Stadium until finally the team retained its current name in celebration of its move to the soccer-specific Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas. Among FC Dallas’s accomplishments are winning the U.S. Open Cup in 1997, runners-up for the U.S. Open Cup in 2005 and 2007 and winning the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2006. With its success FC Dallas was recognized off the field when it saw the creation of an official supporters’ club named FCD Nation which gives fans several benefits to show their support. The team has ties with the National Football League through MLS investor Clark Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and FC Dallas.
